Tripunithura Architectural Documentation

Tripunithura Architectural Documentation

Tripunithura, especially its inner fort area, was the seat of the Cochin royal family for many centuries. While isolated due this royal exclusivity, cross-cultural links and trade with the Portuguese, Dutch and British lent a unique identity to its built heritage.

This exhibition is the first step in the  documentation of the main buildings in the vicinity of Sree Poornathrayeesa temple. It aims to create awareness  about these historic structures that are fast disappearing due to developmental pressures.

Through drawings, photographs and positive examples of architectural renovation projects, it attempts to engage the public and civic authorities towards the preservation of this remarkable settlement.

Documentation & exhibition with the generous support of Cochin Royal Family Historical & Heritage Society.
